There was a time for those of us old enough to remember when cable TV was a gift from heaven. The communications industry is on top of the world. Analog telco infrastructure has grown and offered value added services such as call-waiting, caller-ID, and enterprise call conferencing. GSM subscription is also picking up.
Local and National TV is also picking up, in this study by Martin Hilbert last 2012 on the state of communications in the 90’s it clearly showed massive growth in subscription and services.
Then Digital transformation came along and things changed. Streaming data replaced everything. This article talks about the same industry and how it should cope with changing customer expectations.
